GROUP WORKSHOP DATES ARE TBD
GROUP Workshops will be a two day hands on event, covering my personal creative process into fashion photography. We will work on all the steps I take to plan a successful photo shoot. Covering; building and working with a creative team, planning and organizing a photo shoot concept, choosing the right models, shooting in the studio with the simple lighting set up, working with professional models, and finally my workflow for retouching final images.
I am so excited to share what I know with those who are passionate to learn and grow their photography experience. I am a 100% self taught photographer, and I aim to give each student a grasp on how to take beautiful and engaging fashion portraits with some of the basics of fashion photography. All the knowledge I will share I have learned over the years working with the best of the fashion industry in Saskatchewan. Each student will have hands on time to shoot each model, assisted by me, asking questions along the way, working step by step on how I light, pose, and my personal camera settings. Together as a group we will shoot a collection of images to retouch the next day.
I ask that you have a good knowledge on how to use your DSLR on Manual Mode. This class is best aimed towards beginners, amateur and aspiring photographers, or those in the industry looking to gain new skills and new portfolio work.
What to bring:
A DSLR Camera
A couple lenses, I shoot all my studio work with my 50mm & 85mm prime lenses
A few memory cards
Camera batteries and charger
Your lap top / computer for day two of retouching with Photoshop*
Securing your spots:
Workshop sizes will be small to keep the classes intimate, giving each student adequate time to learn and ask questions. Only 6 spots will be available per workshop. 50% is due upon booking to secure your spot, with the remainder due 5 days before the workshop.
If you need to cancel, a refund of deposit will only be given if you allow 30 days notice. If less then 30 days notice, your deposit can be transferred to the next workshop date.
What to expect:
We will be starting at 10:00am both days. Day One will start with introductions and background into my business, introduction of my team and models, some theory & talk about the fashion industry in Saskatchewan. We will have professional agency represented models, my hair and makeup team, and a wardrobe stylist for three completely different fashion shoots. For each set, I will explain my camera and lighting set up & interaction with the models, followed by each students personal shooting time. Concepts wont be revealed until we are on set :)
Day two I will explain my process for image selection and what I look for, followed by my skin retouching workflow and color toning on our images.
Water & lunch provided both days.
Teaching a hands on workshop has always been something I’ve wanted to do, and I am so excited to finally be taking this step. I look forward to teaching what I know to each student who attends a 2016 workshop!
